I'd agree that at times the room volume seems to loud in the main auditorium. What I find interesting is the DB level is always in the safe range (thinking specifically of Starfield concert & singles BIG meeting), but at the back of the auditorium it was SO loud. I'm not sure how the acoustics are in the room, but it almost seems like the sound bounces around and thus the back seems louder. Not a very scientific answer I know

Only been coming to the church for about two years (member for 1.5) and the sound levels were never really an issue (good thing) until two Sundays ago (10/9). That was the first time and only time that the sound levels were quite noticeably louder. Otherwise, for my personal preferences, the sound levels are typically good. Thanks for the feedback opportunity!

I don't tend to think "This whole mix is too high." I tend to think "Parts of this mix (normally the bass) are overshadowing the rest of the band. I can't hear the worship leaders or anyone else." Even just lowering the volume on the bass might solve the problems of volume.

I can't submit the survey because I have no answer for the first two questions and there is no option for not remembering what things were like almost 30 years ago.

For the third question I would say the volume levels at times get too loud. I don't think this is just because I don't like loud music. I suspect that if you turned down the volume some, no one would notice all that much and we might actually be able to hear those worshiping around us. (for some of us, that might not be such a good thing. ;-)

Volume levels can change from week to week. Sometimes it seems too high. Usually it seems about right. Seldom does it seem too low.

I don't really remember what the sound levels were like in 1978, but neither do I remember thinking "I have to do something about this," so they were probably ok.
